are invited to submit abstracts on their research by email. THE DEADLINE
FOR SUBMISSION IS 10TH APRIL 2023. The abstracts will be reviewed and
the best six invited to present their work in the competition. The top
three presentations will be selected as the UK nominations to
participate in the 2023 ERCOFTAC da Vinci competition, which this year
takes place on 12th October at the ERCOFTAC Autumn Festival in Liège,

SUBJECT: UK MHD Meeting 2023 - UPDATED INFORMATION
DATE & LOCATION: 17-19 May 2023, Leeds
DETAILS: The next annual UK MHD meeting will take place from Wednesday
17th May until Friday 19th May 2023 in the School of Mathematics at the
University of Leeds. The conference website [12] contains further
details including registration links and accommodation information. The
deadline for registration is 10th May 2023.
Abstract submission is open until Friday 21st April 2023. If you would
like to submit an abstract for a talk or poster presentation, please
fill in and submit the form here [13]. We expect to announce the
programme during the first week of May. We will prioritise giving talks
to junior researchers, but anyone interested is very welcome to submit
an abstract for an oral or poster presentation. Topics of interest
include (but are not restricted to) the latest results, challenges, and
opportunities in astrophysical (exoplanets, solar and stellar
atmospheres and interiors, astrophysical discs, galaxies), geophysical
(deep interiors of Earth and other planets), and laboratory MHD
(casting, liquid metal batteries, etc.).
The registration fees, which include a conference dinner on the evening
of Thursday 18th May, are as follows:
* £100 for academic staff and postdoctoral researchers/fellows [14]
* £60 for PhD (and other) students [15]
