[UKFN's Shear] The 3rd Turbulent Free Shear Flow meeting - Friday, 22/June - Loughborough

Dear Turbulent Free Shear Flow SIG members,


As we decided, the 3rd SIG meeting will take place at 10:00 - 17:00, Friday, 22/June at Burleigh Court, Loughborough University.  This time, we will focus on sharing.  So, please read bullet point 3 below and prepare accordingly.  One of the main objectives for this meeting is to share research data/code.  I would like to push a bit harder.


As usual, travel funding will be available.  We have supported transportation/accommodation for all participating members.  But, in case the budget is overrun, the priority will be given to those who travel farthest.


Below are important information about the meeting.


1. We will have a lab tour to their newly built gas turbine lab.

2. We have an invited speaker, Prof. Jim McGuirk who will talk about his research on free shear flows in gas turbine combustors.

3. I would like to request a special preparation to the members this time. I requests members to bring their codes and data which they can share.  And also prepare a short document explaining the shared item.  I put some effort to create an example.  They are attached here and also found in the link below.

4. For first-time attendants, please prepare short introduction slides.  An example is attached here.

5. Lastly, could you confirm your attendance?  Also, your intention to present about your sharing research data/code
